Westerly Hospital details 'Healthy for Life' 2012 programs

Westerly — The Westerly Hospital is sponsoring free community education programs as part of its 2012 “Healthy for Life” series.

The first program, “Topics in Heart Health,” will take place at 6 p.m. Feb. 22. Dr. David Donaldson, a cardiologist and electrophysiology specialist on staff at The Westerly Hospital, will examine heart disease risk factors, prevention, cardiovascular care and related topics.

All the community education programs are from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the hospital’s Henry J. Nardone Conference Center.

Upcoming programs include: nutrition for exercise and weight management, March 8; colon cancer update, March 27; cataracts and macular degeneration, May 23; complementary and alternative medicine, June 4; prostate cancer and screening, Sept. 12; stress management, Sept. 19; breast and other female cancers, Oct. 17.
