What is it?
The Free Women’s Center says it is “a Pro-Life crisis pregnancy center that empowers as many individuals as possible to make healthy life choices consistent with the intrinsic value of human life, and serves as a leader in the community at large for positive sexual values.”
The organization’s purpose is to inform women confronted with a crisis pregnancy through education, counseling, and compassionate care based on Christian values. These values include sanctity of human life, abstinence outside of marriage, faithfulness within marriage, personal responsibility, self-help, the dignity of work, knowledge and wisdom, community, church and prayer.
FWC says they fulfill their mission through programs which provide pregnancy testing and peer counseling; pregnancy confirmation through limited diagnostic ultrasound; partnering and support; linkage to community resources; education and training; post abortive support; adoption support; and material aid.
What they do
• Promote life affirming choices for pregnancy and sexuality.
• Provide services in a loving, caring, nonjudgmental manner.
• Offer services to people of all races, cultures, creeds, and economic status.
• Offer all services and programs to clients free of charge and with full confidentiality.
• FWC advocates abstinence as a “positive life choice for unmarried persons.”
How they do it
FWC is supported by volunteers and donations that help operate its programs.
Churches, service organizations, businesses, fundraising efforts, cooperation with government support agencies all help to keep the FWC doors open.
